Fundamentalist of the Month SALLY KERN Sneakin' Jesus into the Public Schools with HB 1001
Sally Kern
Homo hatin' Oklahoma congress chick Sally Kern (R-Oklahoma City) clowned during a lighter moment on her book promotion tour with fellow Republican Rep. Trebor Worthen.
Trebor Worthen was also a minor character in the Harry Potter series.
4 nuts out of 5 Sally's proposed get-god-into-schools legislation has made it out of committee - again.
The woman who claims that homosexuality is worse than terrorism* is reintroducing a bill tht promotes religion in Public Schools. This bill allows (among other things): students to submit religious writings instead of the required educational materials, Creationism to be promoted in science courses, religous content to be broadcast over school public address systems, and sponsorship of mandatory religious events for all students. Although an earlier version of the bill was vetoed by governor Brad Henry, Sally declared the veto "totally bogus" and she and the gang are at it again.
Typical of the pretzel logic employed by this segment of the populat (i.e. religious fanatics), Sally describes the bill as: An Act relating to schools; creating the Religious Viewpoints Antidiscrimination Act. This is a subset of the "Christianity is under attack" theme employed by the Christian right and Fox News. This is nonsense. Anyone who chooses can believe that the world is 6000 years old and that dinosaurs were contributing to the hygene problems on the Ark. Ignorance is a constitutional right in America.
Sally Kern is a leader of the Christian Nationalist movement, which is less dangerous than homesexuality but more dangerous than terrorism.
"I'm not the typical legislator," explains Sally. "The Lord showed me right off the bat that I'm not supposed to be. As a matter of fact, my Lord made it very clear to me that I am a cultural warrior."
Did your Lord send an e-mail, or was it the voices in your head?
It is important to remember that Sally isn't just a solo nut living in a world of religious fantasy. She was elected by other nuts. Six other states have also introduced "Religious Viewpoint Anti-Discrimination" bills this year. Can you guess the states (answers below)?
* Based on Ms. Kern's expert opinion, there is little doubt that a homosexual terrorist is condemned to a substandard afterlife experience.
